RSF Electronics manufactures high precision, non-contact encoders to exacting standards. They use a photolithographic approach to the manufacturing of the scale to ensure the highest level of accuracy with minimal error. Scales are available with fundamental periods ranging from 40 micron to 4 micron before interpolation. The encoder outputs are available in sine-cosine format or in interpolated quadrature with up to 100x resolution possible with minimal sub-divisional error (SDE).
Digital Readouts
RSF offers a line of readheads that operate on the principle of single field scanning. This type of system is relatively impervious to scale contamination because it looks at a scale window of approx. 1/2" with 64 separate sensors. This photo shows a round lissajous pattern indicating good signal output despite the contamination of the scale.
